"I was a State Farm customer for nearly 15 years. After moving to Richmond a couple of years ago, we needed a local agent to transfer our family's auto policies (4 cars, four drivers) from our excellent North Carolina agent. Chose this office based on proximity. Two months ago, one of our cars had a catastrophic electrical system failure. After some miscommunication between me and the office staff (my fault), the policy was still active a month later after I was sure I'd asked them to cancel; they reminded me that they were waiting for me to confirm the car was paid off with lender. All seemed good at that point and they let me know they'd work on getting a refund for coverage provided after the car had been paid-off (it's not operational and I gave the title to the shop to scrap/repair on their own). Well, late last week, I logged into my State Farm portal to see that ALL my policies were CANCELLED! Wow! So unprofessional. I'm with Progressive now. And will never go back."
